Custom built in to precise standards, the MV Mermaid II is a fast cruising motor yacht constructed of the highest quality marine steel available. At 32 meters (101 ft.) long and 7 meters (21 ft.) wide she is huge and easily accommodates 18 guests in eight Deluxe double / twin cabins, and one Standard twin bunk cabin on the lower deck. Her nine cabins all feature individually controlled air-conditioning, and en-suite toilet with hot showers. The eight Deluxe cabins, which are on the main deck also feature large panoramic windows for viewing the incredible Bali sunsets, a double bed with a single above, nice size wardrobe, and an electrical outlet for charging your camera and electronic equipment. The Standard cabin offers the same amenities as the deluxe cabins without the picture windows, and has a shared en-suite bathroom.

Entertainment, Dining, and Common Areas
Texas style BIG! This Komodo liveaboard has not just one but two extremely comfortable and well appointed saloons. The main deck saloon is where delicious buffet style local and Western meals are served up hot and fresh. Eat as much as you like the food is delicious. The bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities are there for your use, make yourself at home. There are also numerous snacks available here throughout the day which include: yogurts, fresh fruits, grain cereals, and tasty cookies.
The upper deck saloon houses the home entertainment system including a flat screen TV, DVD and stereo. There is an extensive movie and music library as well as plenty of marine books in several languages. The large picture windows bring in fresh sea breezes and cool air making this a great area for socializing or relaxing in the evenings or afternoons. Make yourself comfortable on one of the cozy over stuffed lounge chairs or sofas and take an afternoon siesta.
So your an outside person, not to worry, there are two large outside deck areas to meet your every desire. The shade covered party deck has a combination of custom made lounge chairs and cushioned sun chairs for catching a sunset or star gazing in the evenings. And for you sun lovers there is an enormous forward sun deck on the main deck in front of the wheelhouse, complete with cushioned lounge area.This is our favorite spot to have an evening cocktail or two as we cruise the Komodo Islands.
A Dive Deck for Nitrox Divers and Photographers
The dive deck has been designed with comfort and convenience in mind. There is plenty of area for suiting up and loads of storage space for your personal equipment. For photographers and videographers there is a camera table and a number of rinse tanks.
There is also a full Enriched Air Nitrox station on board for those of you who are certified nitrox divers. For those of you not yet Nitrox certified, specialty nitrox courses are available during the trip for your convenience. You might combine the nitrox course with a photography specialty and really have some fun!

Liveaboard Trip Prices Include: All prices are per person and include accommodation on board, all meals, most drinks (drinking water, coffee, tea, etc.), professional dive master services, scuba tanks, weights, weight belt, air, and 3-4 dives per day. We also include transfer from Denpasar International Airport, Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Jimabaran, Benoa, and Seminyak on Bali to Benoa harbor on Bali for departure to the Komodo Islands.
Additional Charges: Equipment rental and national park fees are not included in the above prices and can be paid for upon arrival. Equipment rental is 18 Euros for a full set of equipment per day, depending on availability. Komodo National park and port fees are 60 Euros.. PADI diving courses, nitrox fills, and alcoholic beverages will also be paid for on the boat.
How to Get There: The Mermaid 2 Komodo trips depart and return from Benoa Harbor on Bali. There is transfer service provided to and from the boat from the Airport, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta Beach, Seminyak, Benoa, or Sanur Beach on Bali. Trips to Alor aboard the Mermaid 2 will depart and return from Maumere on Flores island. MV Mermaid 2 Komodo Islands Itinerary
The itinerary of the Mermaid II is meant to deliver the best diving from Bali to the Komodo Islands within the time allotted for the liveaboard cruise. Her schedule will consist of 8 Day and 7 Night cruises to the best dive sites from Bali to the Komodo and Rinca Islands. There will be several trip to Alor from Maumere on Flores. All Komodo liveaboard cruises will depart from Benoa Harbor on Bali Island, and the Alor trips will depart from Maumere on Flores island.
Sample Itinerary Bali to Komodo
Day of Departure - Saturday (First evening on the Mermaid II)Check in onboard MV Mermaid II between 14:00 - 16:00 at Benoa Harbor, Bali. After the boat and safety briefing, we'll set up equipment and you can settle into your cabin and get to know your fellow divers. Dinner will be served at approximately 19:00 hours as we cruise into the sunset on the overnight journey to Moyo Island, north west of Sumbawa.
Diving Day 1 - Sunday
Start your adventure with a great dive in the calm, clear waters of Angel Reef at Moyo Island. Massive elephant ear and barrel sponges, schools of long fin banner fish and red tooth triggers in their hundreds, frog fish, nudibranchs, eels, surgeon fish, snapper, dog tooth tuna checking out what is for lunch! Visit the local village then its lunch for us. Next is a great dive at Panjang Reef – are the pygmy seahorses around? Then we cruise 2 hours to Satonda Island for a world class night dive after watching a million bats fly at sunset. After a great dive and dinner we cruise overnight to Sangeang Island, off the north coast of Sumbawa. 3~Dives
Diving Day 2 - Monday
2 dives at Sangeang Island for rare nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and underwater hot springs that support this very unique marine life. Cruise to Gili Banta for exhilarating dives at Tanduk Rusa for big fish and amazing corals or GPS Point, famous for its sharks and pelagic's. Then we enter the Komodo National Park and night dive at Gili Darat South Passage - sleeping turtles, colorful reef stone fish, spanish dancers, calm seas, and a great place to stay the night. 4~Dives
Diving Day 3 - Tuesday
If the tide is right we will look for gray reef sharks and dolphin at Taka Toko Gili Lawa Laut. Dive two is a fast drift with pelagics and mantas at Lighthouse Reef or the Old Passage. Then Crystal Rock for some awesome soft coral and the chance for sharks, turtles, giant maori wrasse, a fish soup dive, and the possibility of eagle rays! Then we cruise south for a fascinating night dive at Pink Beach near the entrance to the Komodo National Park. 4~Dives
Diving Day 4 - Wednesday
Start your day with an exciting visit to the Komodo Islands National Park to walk with the dragons! After exploring relax as we cruise two hours south to Horseshoe Bay at Rinca Island. Spectacular diving awaits at the world famous Cannibal Rock where we will encounter rare nudibranchs, frogfish, spectacular coral, sponges, ascidians, huge black coral, turtles, cuttlefish, and an abundance of reef fish. Watch dragons, monkey, deer, and wild pigs along the shore as you are beach combing. Follow whales and dolphins as they feed in the calm bay. We will overnight at this peaceful place with a night dive at one of the many fabulous sites. 3~Dives
Diving Day 5 - Thursday
The Three Sisters call us to Padar Island for sharks, nudibranchs, surgeon fish and devil rays. Manta Alley or Takat Makasar is next for the chance at a manta aggregation – WOW! Batu Bolung aka Current City is the home of large napoleon wrasse, turtles, and blue fin trevally. Then we say goodbye to the Komodo Islands National Park with a fabulous night dive at Gili Banta with coral cat sharks. Later we cruise west enjoying dinner night along the way. We will overnight to Satonda Island. 4~Dives
Diving Day 6 - Friday
We enjoy two fantastic dives at Satonda and Moyo Islands for the chance to see ghost pipe fish, ribbon eels, turtles, cuttlefish and more before we cruise overnight back to Benoa in the south of Bali. 2~Dives
Day of Return ( Last Day on the Mermaid II) Saturday
After breakfast we transfer you ashore at approximately 09:00 for transfer to your hotel or the airport.
